$ = Linden

Yes, I'm paid in Linden (Second Life currency) that I can now blow on things like more texture uploads and a dancy dress for Salsa night.

Yay, dancy dress! I've never used SL and am curious about the concept of a texture upload... is this you uploading a texture from your life?

Texture = painting

My SL gallery curator, Tommy Parrott gave me great instructions for transforming digital photos of my paintings into the SL virtual paintings. The process involves manipulating the images in Photoshop to a certain size and configuration, then importing them as textures into SL. Each import costs $10 Linden. Once in my SL inventory as textures I create a SL Object, or a prim. "Prim" is short for primitive object. I shape the prim into a flat board with certain settings and then drag the texture onto it to make the image into a painting that can hang on the wall of the SL gallery. I do the shaping in the New Berlin Sandbox ==> that has stories of its own. I have made a total of 21 SL paintings, mostly figures from Dr. Sketchy. I am getting ideas for paintings that are going to be designed just for SL exhibitions but those are still in the idea phase.
