dark worries hover over swamped murky carmine concerns without green
Is it an abstract or is it a landscape. It's definitely in a mood. My mood was action painting with fat brushes. No small lines but the dagger stripper is fat but capable of thin undulating lines. The white in this is rather a cream color that is hard to see in the photo. |

After some professional assessments I realized that I must do a base coat of acrylic color on the watercolor canvas in order to create collage patches to incorporate into clothing. The off-white canvas color is not as versatile as a red, yellow, gray or pink background. So I ordered one more roll of the canvas and after that it's back to paper. Onward through the paint. |

It's such a peaceful place. Haiku, tai chi and watercolor as the turtles plopped down and poked up in the water's shiny surface. |

[Oct. 24th, 2007|08:31 pm] |

My friend Grace bought this painting last night at Henry's. canvas and fingers
This is acrylic wash and India ink on watercolor canvas. Today the drycleaning verdict arrived. This combination of materials survives dry cleaning so can be made into wearable art by Henry! I bought two more rolls of the canvas online because Jerry's in Austin isn't going to carry it. Too bad. I bet more people will want this surface when they see what it does. |

someone had fun at the Austin Figurative Gallery last night
The model was Jessica from Dr. Sketchy. There were some great loose and colorful artists working in paint on the free panels provided. Nice jazz music. The smell of oil and acrylic paint. I worked on paper but I think next Monday I'll work on really GOOD paper.

Bruce's rant was a powerful spectacular brilliant performance. These are my notes. A smart fun fellow SXSWer, Will Powers made a video of my making this painting during Bruce's rant.
