Snake in my carpet

When I came back from NIA there was a little snake, yes, snake poking its
head out from under my door. I couldn't quite believe it until it moved back under the door and deep into my shag carpet. I called Manager Bob who broomed the snake out of the carpet and put it into a big white pail from pool chemicals. The little snake had a distinctive orange stripe down its back and Kay found it on the Web when I got to the office. It turned out to be a Western Plains Garter Snake: http://www2.biology.ualberta.ca/uamz.hp/snake.html

I had a lovely lunch with Harold at www.amoda.org. I am going to volunteer for a few small jobs that will lead up to the position of Director of Education.
