optimisticZ practiced plein air painting at the Japnese Gardens today. It was sunny and breezy. She didn't even notice the people who traipsed by. She was very focused and not nervous painting in public at all. She'll do just fine in Italy. She painted red flowers cascading over a lily padded pond. We had a great time. She's moving in the direction of Arthur Dove and getting bolder with her composition.
She also gave me some advice for my upcoming interview. She suggested that I start off my presentation with questions instead of leaving questions til the end. I will have an installation of my work, my data (mail art) and some opera stuff in the room that should spur questions. Also Pedro Pescador, a mail artist who lives there will be coming to the presentation. It's simultaneously an Obscure Action and Congresso '04.
