The film Troy looks hard and long into the fates of blue-eyed men. Peter O'Toole gives a wonderfully classic tragic performance that conveys the power of the poetry of Homer. Agamemnon is operatically acted as a coalition of the willing power tripper. Brad Pitt has a unique fighting style featuring leaps flashing buff thighs from a short leathern skirt followed by a swift sword thrust into the shoulder girdle of his unfortunate opponent. Ajax is magnificently Ajaxian with Trojans flying off his hammer, batting close to 400. The horse, made from chunks of some of the 1,000 ships, was a fine sculptural deceit. The music is all wrong.
