Today we returned home to Texas after 2 weeks in Florida. I received quite a bit of mail including 3 big fat envelopes. One from Gianni Simone in Japan with Kairan 6 and an essay by Ruggero Maggi on technology and mail art. One from Vittore Baroni with his statement that from his perspective mail art is drying up while documentation about the mail art movement is increasing with research and new books coming out. Vittore doesn't study or participate in Internet mail art so he doesn't have the experience of seeing all the new versions of mail art cropping up and all the mail art conversations on the message boards. The third fat envelope was a wonderful full-color catalog of the 40 years of mail art show from Anna Boschi in Italy. I have so much to do! But I did send three hand-painted post cards: one to Anna, one to Vittore, and one to Gianni to thank them for the wonderful gifts of mail.
