I see myself as a hunter gatherer. I hunt in places where the mail art network and the internet converge or clash and then I ask people who are involved for their direct input. I am pleased with the process so far, but sometimes people distrust my motives and think I am profiting from my work. I may profit in the future because I will have a degree that will enable me to teach. I noticed some people also give criticism to the other authors who write about mail art such as John Held Jr. and CrackerJack Kid, however they both spent their own money to publish their work too. It is very costly to spend a year doing research and I am fortunate to have a student loan that carries me through as well as a part-time job.
