Model Goodbye letter
To my dear Models,
First I want to thank you for the amazing creative energy and spontaneous inspiring performances you have brought to our students.
Here’s to a great and creative new year for you and yours.
I am writing to officially inform you that the Art Institute of Austin is moving to Bastrop starting in the Summer 2020 term. I will be teaching Fashion Drawing in the spring term starting in January. That means I will not be contacting you to pose for life drawing this spring. I don’t know what life drawing classes will be offered in the Spring term, but the other teachers of life drawing have your contact information.
If you are interested in making the trek out to Bastrop to model please let me know.
I am deeply grateful for our creative collaboration and friendship forged with the focus of helping students learn to draw from life. What exciting and imaginative times we’ve had together. Your contributions have made the students better artists and made me look like a better teacher.
Many great memories for sure. Always some kind of adventure. Never a dull moment attempting to some how compliment your exceptional instruction. The experience has been an indelible pleasure and an honor.
I am hoping to get some work here at AI this spring. Its so convenient. Bastrop does have a mystical allure. A practical draw, not so much. Exploration is always a temptation for me.
Thank you for your kind words, support, and allowing me to listen to your amazing instruction. So good even an old dog like me learned something. You are the best!
Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
From Miss Scarlett:
Hello! I am so glad we met at Dr. Sketchy’s those six years ago. Thank you for inviting me to become a model at the Art Institute. It is a rewarding venture watching the students progress through the semester, and I’m hopeful that I was able to help them learn. I wish I could say I absorbed all the knowledge you taught to them. Having never taken a drawing class before, I tried to learn all the terms right along with them, but I don’t remember as much as I would like to!
I have decided to not continue with the school out in Bastrop. It is too much of a drive for me. I do hope it does well out there.
Let me know if you need me at UT or for any pastries.
I’d love to go to tea with you and L.
And thank you for the beautiful holiday card! Happy Everything!
