I googled the quote and found that it was abstract painter Barnett Newman who said it. thanks! I'll put the quote in my syllabus.

what would your syllabus say?

If you were going to teach a course in aesthetics, what are the main topics you'd cover?

I NEVER thought of teaching aesthetics before because I'm an artist bird:-) But it's on the list of courses for one of the jobs I'm applying to, so I'm trying to see through my feathers to get a better peek at ornithology.
